Join us and make a difference too!</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><span><b>Job Title: </b>AMAS Compliance & HSE Manager</span></p><p><span><b>Location:</b> Reston, Virginia or NYC (Must be able to travel to the office in one of these locations 4 times a month and as needed)</span></p><p><span> </span></p><p><span><b>About the role:</b><br />We are looking for an Americas Compliance & HSE Manager to join BSI on a full-time, permanent basis, reporting to the Group Head of Compliance, Ethics & HSE.</span></p><p></p><p><span>This is a senior regional role responsible for the deployment, management, and continual improvement of BSI’s Compliance and HSE programmes across the Americas. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will represent the function at leadership level, maintain key ISO certifications, and play a central role in promoting a strong culture of ethics, safety, and integrity.</span></p><p></p><p><span>The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery and is well suited to someone confident operating in complex, regulated, multinational environments.</span></p><p><span> </span></p><p><span><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></span></p><ul><li><p><span>Deploy and maintain BSI’s Compliance and HSE Management Systems across the Americas, ensuring continued certification to <b>ISO 37001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001</b>.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Lead regional audits, inspections, monitoring, and corrective actions to ensure compliance with Group standards and local legislation.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Develop and deliver the Americas Compliance & HSE plan in partnership with regional leadership.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to senior leaders, including participation in the Americas Leadership Council.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Lead accident, incident, and compliance investigations, implementing effective preventative measures.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Maintain oversight of risk assessments, safe systems of work, and occupational health guidance.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Produce regular reporting on incidents, audits, and compliance performance for senior leadership and Group.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Identify regulatory risks and compliance gaps, engaging stakeholders to drive mitigation actions.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Lead and develop the regional Compliance & HSE team, including budget ownership and capability development.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Implement and oversee global Travel Risk Management for the Americas region.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Act as a key member of the Americas Crisis Management Team.</span></p></li></ul><p><span> </span></p><p><span><b>Training, Culture & Engagement:</b></span></p><ul><li><p><span>Design and deliver engaging compliance, ethics, and HSE training across the region.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Lead awareness campaigns and change initiatives that strengthen ethical conduct and safety culture.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Coach and support leaders and teams to embed compliance and HSE principles into day-to-day operations.</span></p></li></ul><p><span> </span></p><p><span><b>To be successful in the role, you will have:</b></span></p><ul><li><p><span>A degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or equivalent professional HSE qualification.</span></p></li><li><p><span>At least 5 years’ experience in HSE and compliance roles, ideally within high-risk or highly regulated environments.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 37001 (or similar compliance frameworks).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience managing risk, crisis response, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proven leadership capability, including team management and budget responsibility.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence senior leaders.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong communication skills and a proactive, improvement-focused mindset.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>BSI </b>offers a competitive salary, group-sponsored health and dental, short-term and long-term disability, a company-matched 401k plan, company paid life insurance, 11 paid holidays and 4 weeks paid time off.</p><p></p><p><b>Do you believe the world deserves excellence?</b></p><p>We are proud to be the business improvement company helping organisations become more sustainable and resilient — inspiring trust in their products, systems, services, and the world we live in.</p><p>Headquartered in London, BSI is the world's first national standards organization with more than 100 years of experience.
