Our Digitization and Implementation group works alongside Operations to deliver automation solutions, partnering with Citi's innovation labs to drive optimization and support our transformation to a target operating model, leveraging AI, natural language processing, and machine learning capabilities.<div></div>Role SummaryThe Securities & Derivatives Intermediate Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices, in coordination with the Operations – Transaction Services team. The role's core objective is to facilitate the clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions — specifically supporting day-to-day Yen Equity settlements.<div></div>Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Provide day-to-day Yen Equity settlement support, including:<ul><li>Processing securities settlement</li><li>Making payments</li><li>Performing reconciliations</li><li>Inputting general ledger entries</li><li>Performing (complex) calculations</li></ul></li><li>Interact with counterparties regarding settlement activities</li><li>Support an expansive and/or diverse array of products, services, risk, and control functions</li><li>Follow established procedures to identify and resolve problems requiring investigation or research</li><li>Make recommendations to management to support process improvement</li><li>Resolve problems by applying acquired technical experience, guided by precedent</li><li>Make evaluative judgments based on factual analysis and assist in implementing process improvements</li><li>Minimize risk to the firm through strong knowledge of procedural requirements; monitor errors and propose solutions to reduce them while adhering to audit and control policies</li><li>Manage and escalate settlement-related inquiries and issues in a timely manner</li><li>Interact directly with external customers to disseminate or explain information</li><li>Demonstrate an intermediate-level understanding of products/processes and how the role integrates with the team and closely related teams</li><li>Use strong communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills to engage colleagues and stakeholders, exchanging potentially complex or sensitive information with sensitivity to audience diversity</li><li>Exhibit strong executional capability</li><li>Appropriately assess risk in all business decisions, with particular consideration for the firm's reputation, safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and its assets — driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating/managing/reporting control issues with transparency</li></ul><div></div>Qualifications and Skills<ul><li>3–5 years of relevant experience</li><li>Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment</li><li>Ability to perform well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task effectively</li><li>Proficient verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English</li></ul><div></div>Organizational Oversight (What You'll Be Part Of)<ul><li>Pursuing daily core operations while maintaining a culture where processes, risks, and controls are continually monitored, with potential risks escalated in a timely manner</li><li>Contributing to an effective control framework meeting Audit, Compliance, and Regulatory requirements</li><li>Ensuring infrastructure and tools are in place to effectively manage risk and deliver high-quality client service</li></ul><div></div>Job LevelC11 – Intermediate level<div></div>Citi is an equal opportunity employer.
