<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<ul>
<li> Set expectations and provide structure around site safety with superintendent and subcontractors</li>
<li>Identify strengths and weaknesses of superintendent around knowledge, create site specific programs when necessary and train accordingly</li>
<li>Ensure the safety, training and development of Shawmut staff and subcontractors to understand identify and reduce risks in a fast paced construction environment from pre-construction through close-out</li>
<li>Raise awareness of potential hazards that exist on a jobsite with owner by reviewing what can be done to minimize risk</li>
<li>Conduct regular safety audits throughout the duration of a project assessing all safety related issues and follow up with the project team</li>
<li>Communicate directly with subcontractors to discuss concerns and Shawmut's expectations</li>
<li>Identify poor performing subs by reviewing past performance and work with project executives and project managers to establish a plan to improve</li>
<li>Maintain the information technology and systems that are essential to capture and analyze key data, present reporting and communicate effectively</li>
<li>Develop and maintaining strong relationships with every member of the project team, subcontractors and clients</li>
<li>Raise awareness of potential hazards that exist in the new building with Owner by reviewing with him/her what the hazards are and what can be done to minimize/prevent them</li>
<li>Conduct new hire safety orientations for incoming construction operations staff</li>
<li>Train Shawmut staff and subcontractors on topics such as OSHA certification (10 & 30 hour), First Aid, construction specific requirements and new standards review</li>
</ul>
<h2>Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience</li>
<li>OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification</li>
<li>Demonstrated competency in:
<ul>
<li>Fall Protection</li>
<li>Confined Space</li>
<li>Excavation and Trenching</li>
<li>Accident Investigation</li>
<li>Hazard Analysis</li>
</ul></li>
<li>Broad understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements</li>
<li>Current CPR and Basic First Aid certification</li>
<li><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong>
<ul>
<li>Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) certification (CHST, ASP, CSP, etc.)</li>
<li>OSHA 500 Authorized Trainer</li>

<h2>Salary Range Information</h2>
<p><strong>Los Angeles Base Salary Range: $100,000 – $130,000 </strong>The range stated is specific to Los Angeles. Placement within the listed range depends on many factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, project size capability (for Construction & Field roles), and internal company equity.</p>
