Charter Steel is hiring for a May 2027 graduate for our Materials Engineering Rotational Program!</b></p><p></p><p>The Materials Engineering Rotational program provides the opportunity for a recent Materials Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering graduate to join Charter Steel on a full-time basis and rotate between different departments, accelerating their professional growth and development!</p><p></p><p><b>Program Structure: </b></p><ul><li><p><span>Ohio based candidates: rotations in Cleveland, OH or Fostoria, OH</span></p></li><li><p><span>WI based candidates: rotations in Saukville, WI</span></p></li><li><p><span>Start Date: June 2027</span></p></li><li><p>Relocation support</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What you'll bring:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering.</li><li>Related internship or work experience.</li><li>High level of initiative for excellence, results, and process improvement.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Demonstrated abilities in planning and communication of ideas and concepts.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills to work with individuals at all levels of the business.</li><li>Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.</li><li>Demonstrated passion and intellectual curiosity within the steel industry and Materials field of study.</li><li>Willingness to travel as needed.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>What you'll focus on:</b></p><ul><li>Learn the operations of the plant and how metallurgical theories and practices are incorporated into those operations to improve the process.</li><li>Understand the effect of process changes on product performance.</li><li>Collect and communicate product quality data.</li><li>Perform Root Cause Analysis of process-related defects and effects on final products.</li><li>Assist in trouble-shooting and resolving customer complaints with failure analysis and metallographic interpretations.</li><li>Contribute to process improvements based on detailed analysis of quality parameters data and collaboration with outside technical resources and organizations.</li><li>Participate in Six Sigma, Orange Belt, and problem solving teams.</li><li>Answer inquiries from other departments and monitor production for problems or issues.</li><li>Conduct customer and internal tours based on product and process needs.</li></ul><p></p><p>#LI-Onsite</p><p>#LI-AF1</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><span>We offer comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits, along with a 401(k) plan that includes employer matching and profit sharing.
