<h2>Overview</h2> <p>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test &amp; Evaluation, Engineering &amp; Analysis, and Training.</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p>As a Technical Writer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have an opportunity to do the following:</p> <ul> <li>Write, rewrite and/or edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications.</li> <li>Impart a wide range of knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in technical fields and related disciplines gained through wide exposure to weapons systems operations and/or test and evaluation processes and procedures.</li> <li>Confer with authors and subject matter experts to recommend edits to technical documentation to include review of content for completeness, accuracy and correctness of language use.</li> <li>Verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources.</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Active SECRET clearance.</li> <li>Must be able to work under general direction and independently determine and develop approaches to technical documentation production.</li> <li>BS/BA and 5-7 years of related experience.</li> <li>Previous technical writing experience supporting NSWC DET WS or other NSWC Detachments is highly desired.</li> </ul> <h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $30.00/Hr. - USD $35/Hr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
