About This Role
<h2>Overview</h2>
<p>AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a <strong>100% employee-owned</strong> federal government contractor, is seeking a <strong>Lead Network Engineer</strong> to leverage their expertise in designing and implementing <strong>integrated, scalable on-premises platforms</strong> in support of our government customer in <strong>Chantilly, VA</strong>.</p>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<p>As a <strong>Lead Network Engineer</strong> with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have the opportunity to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with systems architects to <strong>design, implement, and optimize customer networks IAW ICD 503 </strong></li>
<li>Design and deploy functional networks (e.g. LAN, WLAN, WAN)</li>
<li>Investigating and resolving operational problems.</li>
<li>Working on teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases </li>
<li><strong>Plan and lead network projects</strong> for network <strong>installation and upgrade</strong></li>
<li>Responsible for all <strong>network data transport (Layer 3 and below)</strong> and overall network <strong>traffic routing</strong></li>
<li>Manage <strong>IP address space allocation</strong> and track <strong>IP address permanent assignments </strong></li>
<li>Create and <strong>implement network security measures</strong> (access<strong> authentication, STIG implementation,</strong> etc.) </li>
<li>Design, configure, deploy, and maintain<strong> firewalls</strong>.</li>
<li>Monitor <strong>syslog events</strong> and <strong>implement changes</strong> to improve security posture. </li>
<li>Work with systems administrators, cyber security officers and CNDSP </li>
<li><strong>Assist</strong> cyber security officers to collect and report information required during <strong>RMF A&A activities</strong>.</li>
<li>Conduct regular <strong>network performance tests</strong>.</li>
<li>Resolve escalated network support issues and document resolution</li>
<li>Research and analyze <strong>new network technologies</strong> and present <strong>suggestions for upgrades</strong> for network</li>
</ul>
<h2>Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li><strong>Active TS/SCI Clearance w/current Polygraph required</strong></li>
<li><strong>U.S. Citizenship required </strong>for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining a clearance</li>
<li>Bachelors degree and <strong>9+ years</strong> of relevant networking experience</li>
<li><strong>DoD 8140</strong> IAT II Level certification (e.g. <strong>Security+ CE</strong>, GSEC, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, CND, SSCP)</li>
<li>At least 8 years working with Juniper and Cisco routers and switches, firewalls deployment, configuration, and migration </li>
<li>Working knowledge of <strong>virtualization and cloud platforms</strong>, services, architectures/ designs, and best practices</li>

<h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $160,000.00/Yr. - USD $190,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
