*Japanese follows English Job Description Key ResponsibilitiesExecutes, aligned with global and regional strategies, all responsibilities regarding the underwriting review of equity and/or fixed income securities issuances transactions handled by the firm, including, but not limited to: <ul><li>Comprehensive review of the issuer's business performance, profit plans, financial condition, internal control systems, disclosures, etc. This includes the end-to-end equity and/or fixed income securities issuances process, from early transaction structuring discussions to the preparation of underwriting review reports and senior approval forums.</li><li>Review and approval of underwriting review reports.</li><li>Partner with Front Office on the execution of equity and/or fixed income securities issuances transactions.</li><li>Facilitate relationships with key clients in Banking and Risk, as well as with key Regulators, Internal Audit, and control functions.</li></ul> Underwriting Review Experience <ul><li>At least 5+ years of experience in underwriting review operations.</li><li>Practical experience and knowledge of underwriting reviews (including business performance and disclosure reviews).</li><li>Knowledge of underwriting review processes tailored to various types of equity and/or fixed income securities issuances transactions..</li><li>Ability to partner with banking and product organizations to discuss and address issues associated with equity and/or fixed income securities issuances transactions.</li></ul> Client Relationships / Business Partnership <ul><li>Proven ability to understand the nuances of the Japanese capital markets, laws, accounting, regulations, and local practices.</li><li>Navigates organizational complexity and breaks silos.</li><li>Creates and sustains a network of strong partnerships with the business in all segments, geographies, and other risk functions.</li><li>Provides well-reasoned, balanced assessments of risk/return trade-offs associated with transactions and client relationships.</li><li>Proven track record of partnering with global peers in leveraging and implementing best practices.</li></ul> Required Skills and Experience (Desired Qualifications) <ul><li>10+ years of underwriting review or underwriting business experience at a securities firm.</li><li>Proven ability to effectively engage with regulators and internal control functions, including Internal Audit, as well as with external audit.</li><li>Demonstrates strong ethics and integrity.</li><li>Ability to see the "big picture" in a complex environment.</li><li>Can make decisions under pressure and within tight timelines.</li><li>Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
