The person in this position is responsible for overseeing of the production line leaders and that the floor operates in a productive manner. The Floor Lead is also responsible for directing and training all new Line Leads in the production processes, safety and Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs).Essential Functions: <ul><li>Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures </li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines </li></ul><ul><li>Supervise and train all Line Leads in the production process </li></ul><ul><li>Serve as a backup to the Production Supervisor </li></ul><ul><li>Work in conjunction with the Quality Department for positive production results </li></ul><ul><li>Conduct inspection of the product every hour or more frequently if the job is complex or critical in its design or use </li></ul><ul><li>Keep abreast of the rates of the jobs running on the production line </li></ul><ul><li>Responsible for work packets being filled out correctly, accurately, and on time </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain a professional demeanor and performance in supervision of staff </li></ul><ul><li>Communicate with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met </li></ul><ul><li>Perform all computer functions in Warehouse Management System (WMS) to include: delete and complete orders, adjust LPN’s, verify quantities produced, print and adjust PTS reports, and verify quantities produced </li></ul><ul><li>Process information and merchandise through computer system </li></ul><ul><li>Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements </li></ul><ul><li>Assist the Line Leads with Item completion, ordering to the line, opening the shift, closing the shift, and reclaim </li></ul><ul><li>Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals </li></ul><ul><li>Assist in balancing Line Lead production hours, as well as verification of all analytical data at end of shift </li></ul><ul><li>Identifies equipment needs and set up lines accordingly </li></ul><ul><li>Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product </li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions </li></ul><ul><li>Analyze and resolves work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems </li></ul><ul><li>Perform hourly checks during shift to maintain efficiencies </li></ul><ul><li>Mentor and develop line leads, and share expertise with others </li></ul><ul><li>Responsible for enforcing and obtaining all aspects of the line lead function </li><li>Assist the Line Leads in training Line Workers </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors </li></ul> Performance Measures & Outcomes:<ul><li>Adherence to safety policies and procedures </li></ul><ul><li>Quality of work </li></ul><ul><li>Production goals </li></ul> Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: <ul><li>Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to effectively work in teams </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to lead/supervise large groups of associates </li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of quality standards, methods and reporting as required </li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrate a “team player” demeanor </li></ul><ul><li>Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to plan in advance for production in assigned areas </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to interpret instructions (both verbal and written) </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to produce at a high level through assigned staff </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work with plant management for required results </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job </li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management System) and ability to operate WMS handhelds </li></ul><ul><li>Must possess good interpersonal skills </li></ul><ul><li>Must be familiar with production line set up and efficiencies </li></ul> Work Experience:<ul><li>High School diploma or equivalent required</li><li>Minimum 1 year of related experience or training in warehouse production</li></ul> Physical Requirements & Work Environment:<ul><li>Time spent in a production and/or warehouse setting</li><li>Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs</li><li>Frequent walking/standing required</li></ul> All Menasha Packaging employees must conduct their work in a manner that complies with all legal standards and meets customer expectations. The expected salary range for this position is $22- $27/hour (plus applicable shift differential).
