You will lead inclusive design strategies across Owned Brand product design and packaging, with a focus on culture and race, gender and sex, aging, and cognitive and physical accessibility.</p><p></p><p>Reporting to the Senior Director of Inclusive Design & Culture, you will partner across the enterprise and collaborate with external experts to develop and embed inclusive practices that influence products, experiences, and business decisions. You will serve as a strategic leader, educator, and advocate, helping teams build inclusive design capabilities while driving meaningful business and community impact.</p><p></p><ul><li><b><span>Business Leadership: </span></b><span>Serve as a champion for inclusive and social design practices across the organization. Act as a trusted expert on inclusion, cultural insights, emerging trends, and social risk. Lead the development of learning experiences, tools, and resources that help teams strengthen cultural competency, inclusive mindsets, and anti-racist design practices.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><span>Support teams throughout the design process by providing research, insights, and strategic guidance during discovery and concept development. Leverage data and measurement tools to track progress against inclusive design goals, learning objectives, and behavioral outcomes.</span></p><p></p><ul><li><b>Team Leadership</b>: <span>Build strong partnerships across a diverse network of stakeholders to develop strategies and programs that drive meaningful outcomes. Navigate complex, matrixed environments while influencing leaders at multiple levels of the organization.</span></li></ul><p><span>Create the conditions for teams to thrive by providing advocacy, clarity, insights, design direction, and operational support. Foster a culture of collaboration, trust, and inclusion while coaching team members and partners to strengthen their inclusive design capabilities and confidence.</span></p><p></p><ul><li><b>Industry Leadership: </b>Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, including affinity groups, professional organizations, academic institutions, medical experts, and community organizations. Connect social and cultural insights to business priorities and help drive collective action.</li></ul><p></p><p>Represent Target at industry events, conferences, and community engagements to stay informed on emerging trends and best practices. Partner with teams across Corporate Social Responsibility, Multicultural Marketing, Risk & Reputation, and Human Resources to ensure alignment with broader enterprise and multicultural strategies.</p><p></p><p><b><span>About You:</span></b></p><p><span>You bring deep expertise in design, inclusion, and organizational change, along with a passion for creating products and experiences that work for everyone. You are a strategic thinker, collaborative leader, and effective storyteller who can influence across teams and drive meaningful impact.</span></p><p></p><p><b><span>Preferred Qualifications</span></b></p><ul><li><span>10+ years of experience in product design, social design, community leadership, or a related field.</span></li><li><span>Demonstrated experience building inclusion programs and developing organizational capability.</span></li><li><span>Experience advancing design practices within complex, matrixed, or global organizations.</span></li><li><span>Ability to balance immediate business needs with long-term strategic goals.</span></li><li><span>Strong visual, verbal, and written communication skills with a data-informed approach to storytelling.</span></li><li><span>Proven ability to manage stakeholders and influence decision-making across all phases of the design process.</span></li><li><span>Comfortable challenging the status quo, embracing change, and advancing accessibility and inclusion initiatives.</span></li></ul><p></p><p>This role works inn office 4 days per week from our Downtown MN campus.
