The Family Engagement Specialist will lead the development and implementation of a school-wide vision and strategy to increase family and community engagement at the school, in collaboration with the Principal and the school leadership team. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Drive the development and implementation of a school-wide vision and strategy to engage Alliance parents as partners in their education, in collaboration with school site stakeholders and the community. </li><li>Drive the development and implementation of a school-wide strategy to improve the site’s family engagement infrastructure and to facilitate an increase in both the volume and quality of community partners to drive higher scholar outcomes.</li><li>Develop evaluation tools and assess the effectiveness of parent workshops.</li><li>Capture, share, and analyze school data and review with site stakeholders to identify trends that should be addressed through family and/or community engagement.</li><li>Support the progress monitoring and response to key performance indicators related to parent satisfaction at the school.</li><li>Identify and develop new community partnerships to bring additional resources to Alliance schools and families.</li><li>Plan, carry out, and evaluate parent engagement activities in partnership with school staff members and community partners.</li><li>Establish a regular workshop series and serve as the school’s parent educator.</li><li>Identify and promote parent volunteer activities.</li><li>Create a welcoming school environment.</li><li>Establish and staff the school’s parent center.</li><li>Refer families to school and/or community resources.</li><li>Train parent leaders to support charter advocacy activities.</li><li>Support school recruitment activities.</li><li>Support school fundraising activities.</li><li>Participate in professional development.</li><li>Satisfy reporting requirements.</li><li>Provide translation services when needed.</li><li>Perform additional related duties as assigned.</li></ul>IDEAL CANDIDATES<ul><li>Belief: Hold the belief that all scholars, regardless of their economic or social demographics, deserve a quality education and can earn a four-year college degree. </li><li>Social Justice: Desire to work in systemically underserved communities in Los Angeles and be a part of Alliance’s social justice mission by integrating anti-racist, pro-Black, scholar-centered instruction.</li><li>Culture: Demonstrate an ability to develop a positive, achievement-oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations that motivates and inspires scholars to learn at college-preparatory levels.</li><li>Mindset: Hold a growth mindset and commit to continuously honing their craft.</li><li>Relationship-Building: Have strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with both children and adults.</li></ul>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university, or enrollment in a Bachelor's program at an accredited college or university.</li><li>2+ years of experience in a related field.</li></ul>BENEFITSIn alignment with our commitment to equity for our scholars, Alliance is dedicated to promoting equity and transparency within our team, offering competitive salaries commensurate with experience, as well as generous retirement and health benefits.
