This role works closely with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and inspectors to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects, including roadways, bridges, and other civil structures. </div><div> </div><div>Key Responsibilities </div><div><ul><li>Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities to support project schedules and budgets </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Design, review, and implement temporary works and construction means and methods with a strong emphasis on safety </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Inspect installed work, equipment, and materials; identify issues and coordinate corrective actions as needed </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Provide on-site direction and technical support to foremen, crews, and subcontractors </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Monitor project progress and prepare accurate daily reports, quantities, and documentation </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Perform quality control inspections to ensure work complies with contract documents, plans, and specifications </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Verify materials and workmanship meet project requirements and approved submittals </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Enforce safety policies, OSHA regulations, and proper use of PPE on the job site </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Support project cost tracking, schedule updates, and coordination with project stakeholders </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Assist with communication between the field, project management, owners, and inspectors </li></ul></div><div> </div><div>Qualifications </div><div><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline </li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li>Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role in heavy civil or highway construction </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, and materials used in civil infrastructure projects </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and job-site safety practices </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>High attention to detail with strong organizational skills </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Ability to work extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required to meet project schedules </li></ul></div><div> </div><div>Working Conditions </div><div><div><ul><li> This project is located in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Subsequent projects will be nationally based. </li></ul></div><ul><li>Travel between job sites may be required depending on project location. </li><li>Work is primarily performed on active construction job sites, including highways, roadways, and heavy civil infrastructure projects. </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust. </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Position requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting in a construction environment. </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Frequent interaction with heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and construction hazards; strict adherence to safety protocols is required. </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all job sites. </li></ul></div></div><div> </div><div>People are the most important asset at Ames Construction.
