<h2>Overview</h2>
<p><strong>Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Machine Operator I based in Mason, Ohio. This opening is for Night SHIFT, which operates during the hours of 6:48pm to 7am on a rotating 2/2/3 schedule (work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days, etc). </strong></p>

<p>The Operator is responsible for operating a given number of Cold Glue Labeling machines, Dunnage fed Palletizing equipment, Strapping and wrapping machines. (Including in-line equipment) and making necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure production of containers are made in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner. The primary duties of an Operator include:</p>

<li>Understands, follows, and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.</li>

<li>Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned.</li>
<li>Operate auxiliary equipment producing a container in a safe and high-quality method to provide dynamic assistance to a blow molding production process.</li>
<li>Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned.</li>
<li>Assist in mold, insert, and color changes on the line. Executes label change events or other minor changeover events.</li>
<li>Load slip sheets and top frames into dunnage compartments of palletizer.</li>
<li>Clean and maintain glue labeler equipment as well as load materials.</li>
<li>Maintain Line operations for brief periods when Wheel Operator steps away from the production line.</li>
<li>Make frequent quality checks on products being produced by established quality standards.</li>
<li>Assist other Wheel Operators and maintenance personnel on mechanical repairs.</li>
<li>Perform assigned preventative maintenance work.</li>
<li>Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.</li>
<li>Complete and file all required documentation in an orderly and timely manner.</li>
<li>Communicate with the Production Shift Supervisor to coordinate production line support staff in accomplishing the lines’ objectives.</li>
<li>Perform minor troubleshooting of auxiliary equipment on the line. Notify leads and supervisors of any major problems or questions.</li>
<li>Communicate processing information to designated personnel on incoming shift. Assist other Operators as needed.</li>
<li>Assist in the training of new Operators.</li>
<li>Limited travel may be required.</li>
<li>And other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Qualifications</h2>
<p>Operators are required to interact with managers, employees, vendors, and customers. Therefore, the following skills and proficiencies are also essential requirements of the position:</p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance. Ability and willingness to support regular overtime.</li>
<li>Computer usage and typing skills are essential.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.</li>
<li>You must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.</li>
<li>Communicate effectively: convey facts and information clearly both verbally and through documentation.</li>
<li>Collaborating well with others proactively contributes to group objectives; volunteers helping others.</li>
<li>Minimum of 1-2 years of manufacturing or related experience.</li>
<li>Ability to work on your feet and manage multiple auxiliary machines at once.</li>
<li>Ability to lift 30-50lbs.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Compensation Statement</h2>The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
