CoolIT, An Ecolab Company, the leading Direct Liquid Cooling technology provider for data centers, supercomputers, and desktop computers is seeking a full time Mechanical Laboratory Technician to assist in everyday activities of CoolIT's Liquid Lab. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to assembling prototypes and fixtures for pre-compliance and compliance testing, actively participating on all stages when it comes to in-house built hydronic equipment, maintenance and repairs for large equipment (chillers, colling towers, thermal chambers, etc), supporting other activities around the lab while maintaining company safety and quality expectations. These costs are covered by CoolIT and are enacted from your first day </li></ul> What You Will Do:<ul><li>Assemble prototypes using off the shelf, pre-designed and custom-made parts based on the engineer’s specifications. This can include sketch-level design, building or locally sourcing custom parts on-the-go to meet prototype assembling deadlines and functionality levels</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare prototypes for testing incl. disassembling, assembling, wiring, filling with coolant, etc.</li></ul><ul><li>Participate in brainstorming sessions for in-house built equipment on the design and component selection stage, sourcing major components, assembling, testing and startup. </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain large infrastructure equipment including but not limited to: chillers, colling towers, thermal chambers, etc.</li></ul><ul><li>Support other activities around the lab when needed.</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain safe work practices by adhering to company safety policies.</li></ul> Basic Qualifications: <ul><li>Minimum 5 years of related work experience in prototyping, plumbing, hydronics, HVAC/Refrigeration or machining.</li></ul><ul><li>Handy with proven ability to think outside the box for non-common problems.</li></ul><ul><li>Able to find quick, elegant, and cost-effective solutions on the go.</li></ul><ul><li>Desire to constantly learn new skills.</li></ul><ul><li>Work in a fast-paced technology company on projects that sometimes involve a lot of unknown or fast-changing requirements.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.</li></ul><ul><li>Self motivated and proactive.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to prioritize based on the workload and project priorities.</li></ul><ul><li>Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Experience in lab, R&D, or light manufacturing/assembly environments.</li></ul><ul><li>Reach truck and sit down forklift certification.</li></ul> ABOUT COOLIT, AN ECOLAB COMPANY: Founded in Calgary, Alberta in 2001, CoolIT, An Ecolab Company is the leading Direct Liquid Cooling technology provider for data centers, supercomputers, and desktop computers.
