<h2>Overview</h2>
<p>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.</p>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<ul>
<li>Work with and learn from other engineers and designer/drafters to design, develop, analyze, and support the fabrication of pressurized mechanical systems for hydraulics, pneumatics, and seawater, for underwater launchers</li>
<li>Support the development of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) with the use of free body diagrams, stress calculations, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in ANSYS to prove design meets certain requirements</li>
<li>Support designer/drafter’s by creating 3D CAD parts, assemblies, and 2D drawings in SolidWorks</li>
<li>Select design materials based on stress calculations as well as commercial and/or military specifications.</li>
<li>Conduct quality assurance reviews of drawings and technical data packages (TDPs).</li>
<li>Interface with customers and government sponsors.</li>
<li>Support possible testing of designs onboard submarines and in test facilities with some foreign travel possible.</li>
<li>Conduct research of submarine construction drawings using the Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) System.</li>

<h2>Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, or structural engineering.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain a DoW Secret Clearance.</li>
<li>U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance</li>
<li>Physically capable to conduct ship checks on United States Nuclear Submarines:</li>
<li>Be comfortable in relatively confined spaces.</li>
<li>Capable of climbing vertical ladders (20’ – 25’) within the submarine.</li>
<li>At least three (2) years academic experience doing stress analysis with hand calculations</li>
<li>At least one (1) years academic experience using FEA tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, Nastran, COMSOL, or SolidWorks Simulation</li>
<li>Professional experience with Microsoft Office</li>

<h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $60,000.00/Yr. - USD $80,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
