Join the team and become part of our family!</h2><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>Finishing Operator</b></p><p></p><p><b>Position Purpose / Mission</b></p><p>The Finishing Operator rotates through several tasks during a normal workday and is responsible for completing the final stages of the rolling process. This includes operating and monitoring finishing equipment for both coil and cut-to-length steel. Full on-the-job training is provided for the Stelmor cooling conveyor, bar line conveyor, coil trimming, straight bar shear saw, stacking table, and all required packaging processes.</p><p></p><p>Check out our job description video: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x61gJqMMIoo&list=PLDwl88UVHpHw" target="_blank">(12) Finishing Operator at Charter Steel - Cleveland - YouTube</a></p><p></p><p><b>Position Specifics</b></p><ul><li><p>12-hour shift schedule. 6:00pm-6:00am</p></li><li><p>5-2-2-5 rotation.</p></li><li><p>Pay is $24.25 per hour plus a $2.25 night shift premium.</p></li><li><p>Current openings on both day and night shift.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Physical Requirements</b></p><ul><li><p>Constant standing and lifting up to 75 lbs.</p></li><li><p>Frequent sitting, walking, and lifting up to 10 lbs.</p></li><li><p>Occasional work below waist level, pushing/pulling, carrying, extended reaching beyond 15 inches, fine motor tasks, and forceful motion.</p></li><li><p>Minimal climbing, balancing, overhead reaching, foot use, and occasional lifting over 100 lbs.</p></li><li><p>Must meet all physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as detailed in the Job Analysis Database.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Minimum Qualifications</b></p><ul><li><p>High School Diploma or GED, or willingness to enroll in our free GEDWorks program.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work effectively as part of a team.</p></li><li><p>Basic math and communication skills.</p></li><li><p>Strong collaboration, instruction-following, and problem-solving capabilities.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p><ul><li><p>Forklift and/or overhead crane experience.</p></li><li><p>Previous manufacturing experience.</p></li><li><p>Safety awareness or related training.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Major Accountabilities</b></p><ul><li><p>Operate the Stelmor and bar line conveyors.</p></li><li><p>Trim coil front and back end rings to quality specifications.</p></li><li><p>Operate coil compactor and coil handling equipment.</p></li><li><p>Operate the shear saw and stacking table.</p></li><li><p>Operate a forklift.</p></li><li><p>Maintain trimming equipment and manage scrap ring disposal.</p></li><li><p>Follow all packaging requirements.</p></li><li><p>Perform additional plant duties as assigned by the supervisor.</p></li><li><p>Support internal customer needs by working collaboratively with team members.</p></li><li><p>Comply with all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.</p></li><li><p>Meet all essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.</p></li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><span>We offer comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits, along with a 401(k) plan that includes employer matching and profit sharing.
