They will be working directly with the Quality Control Manager on site. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Document daily QC activities, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs)</li><li>Verify materials and workmanship comply with contract plans and specifications prior to and during installation</li><li>Coordinate with project engineers and superintendents to identify and resolve quality issues in the field</li><li>Maintain accurate QC logs, submittals, and inspection reports for project records and closeout</li><li>Support internal and external audits, including owner and regulatory inspections</li><li>Track and report non-conforming work items through resolution</li><li>Assist with development and implementation of the project Quality Control Plan (QCP)</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>2–4 years of experience in construction quality control, materials testing, or related field role</li><li>Working knowledge of ASTM/AASHTO testing standards for soils, concrete, and aggregates</li><li>Strong written documentation and reporting skills</li><li>Proficiency with QC software/documentation systems (e.g., QCS, Procore, or similar)</li><li>Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions</li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>Travel can be required with this position within the United States. This project is located in Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia. Subsequent projects will be nationally based.</li><li>Work is performed on active construction job sites, including highways, roadways, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.</li><li>Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust.</li><li>Position requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting in a construction environment.</li><li>Frequent interaction with heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and construction hazards; strict adherence to safety protocols is required.</li><li>Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all job sites.</li><li>Work is additionally done in an office environment – extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.</li></ul>People are the most important asset at Ames Construction.
