About This Role
<h2>Overview</h2>
<p>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is currently seeking a Junior to Mid-Level <strong>Software Engineer (VE Studio/Simulation) </strong>who will contribute to the performance and success of military personnel through a program focused on training modernization. The role provides an opportunity to directly support an aircraft training suite by developing and integrating software capabilities for a high-fidelity Virtual Maintenance Trainer (VMT). The candidate will work on a collaborative team employing DiSTI VE Studio and other innovative instructional technologies in an Agile environment.</p>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<ul>
<li>Develop and implement simulation software using DiSTI VE Studio in support of VMT functionality.</li>
<li>Create and maintain VE Studio-based displays, interface logic, and supporting application components.</li>
<li>Support messaging, integration, and data exchange between trainer software and external systems.</li>
<li>Collaborate with software, systems, test, and hardware engineers to implement requirements and resolve defects.</li>
<li>Support software integration, build, installation, and verification activities in lab and trainer environments.</li>
<li>Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, peer reviews, and status updates.</li>
<li>Analyze defects, troubleshoot software issues, and implement corrective actions.</li>
<li>Assist with technical documentation and software configuration management activities.</li>
<li>Support team collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human-Machine Interface (HMI) Development, or related technical field; internships may be considered based on skills and experience</li>
<li>U.S. Citizenship required for the purpose of obtaining and holding a security clearance</li>
<li>1–5 years of software development experience supporting interactive applications, simulations, trainer systems, or virtual environments</li>
<li>Experience with DiSTI VE Studio, GL Studio, or comparable simulation/HMI development tools</li>
<li>Experience developing real-time interactive applications or simulation software</li>
<li>Ability to troubleshoot software defects and support integration in a team environment</li>
<li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills</li>

<h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $85,000.00/Yr. - USD $95,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
