Wholesale Credit Risk (“WCR”) In-Business Quality Assurance (QA) is an integral part of the ICM organization.WCR In-Business QA verifies that established standards and processes are followed and consistently applied. WCR and ICM Management utilize the results of Quality Assurance Reviews (QARs) to assess the quality of the group's policies, procedures, programs, and practices as relates to the management of wholesale credit risk. The results enable management to identify risks associated with operational and control weaknesses, training needs, and process deficiencies.The WCR Head of In-Business QA reports results of QARs providing insight and observations on deficiency and areas of improvement, engaging management of the respective In-Business Credit Risk, Independent Risk, Banking & International Credit Review, Internal Audit and Regulators.In this role, you’re expected to: <ul><li>Support the Portfolio Leads of In-Business QA in implementation and ongoing delivery of a robust Quality Assurance function covering WCR Underwriting (UW) portfolios - Institutional, Commercial and Wealth</li><li>Execute High Frequency Testing across dynamic and specialized risk areas, delivering timely assurance and insights on emerging control risks</li><li>Provide assurance over automated and system-driven credit risk controls, identifying control gaps and enhancement opportunities</li><li>Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of control testing through innovative approaches, automation opportunities, and process improvements</li><li>Provide effective and credible challenge during QARs to Portfolio Leads and Underwriters, as regards to credit reviews and process adherence weaknesses in such processes are identified and escalated as appropriate</li><li>Support with the aim to ensure wholesale credit risks within Citi are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled, consistent with the bank’s risk appetite and all policies and processes established within the risk governance framework</li><li>Under the supervision of the QA Head and QA Portfolio Lead, support execution of the following:<ul><li>Consistent and objective assessments during QARs</li><li>Subsequent follow-up on corrective actions that were raised during QARs</li><li>Assist in preparation of Quality Assurance Reports to WCR management that communicate and measure results and identify negative trends and potential solutions</li></ul></li><li>Constant interaction with the respective 1LOD functions, to ensure that quality assurance protocols are adequate for all portfolios</li><li>Support the Head of IBQA on internal projects and initiatives</li><li>Support ICM Voice of the Employee (VOE) initiatives</li></ul>As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure: <ul><li>Demonstrable strong assurance experience, including 10-12 years in corporate banking, credit risk management, internal audit, loan review or quality assurance review function at an investment or large commercial bank</li><li>Knowledge of Wholesale Credit Processes and organizational awareness, portfolios, and processes</li><li>Understanding of policies and procedures with the ability to execute change seamlessly</li><li>Strong grasp of the markets and lending wholesale credit risk covered process, to evaluate findings within the Quality Assurance process, determine and partner with In-Business Credit Risk for ongoing improvement, problem detection and sustainable remediation</li><li>Strong background on core credit analysis for large corporate and finance industries to properly evaluate process and quality breaks within the quality assurance function</li><li>Ideally, credit risk Internal Audit, control assurance, credit officer/analyst or credit risk background, with experience on day-to-day credit functions associated with analysts and risk approval</li><li>High awareness and adherence to the control environment including Quality Assurance</li><li>Strategic orientation to ensure the ICM organization continues to be positioned as a thoughtful and proactive partner on driving best practices to support safety and soundness within ICM and Citi</li><li>Assists colleagues in identifying stretch opportunities to elevate individual and team performance</li><li>Proven culture carrier</li></ul>Competencies:<ul><li>Highly Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and exert influence with and without direct authority with Senior Levels of Management</li><li>Strong organizational skills with ability to manage priorities effectively</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to audiences of varying levels of seniority</li><li>Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>BA/BSc or higher degree in Business (MBA)/ or equivalent or any other related subject</li></ul>Working at Citi is far more than just a job.
