This individual will lead, monitor and analyze the project quality activities, implementing any necessary corrective and preventative actions to comply with and continuously improve our Quality Management System at Ames. This position may focus on a single project or may support multiple projects in a given area.Duties and Responsibilities<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><ul><li>Participate in the development of the Project Quality Plan. Communicate and implement plan ensuring compliance to Ames’ Quality Management System and project specific requirements.</li><li>Responsible to ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner and verify effectiveness.</li><li>Responsible for reporting and managing nonconformances, including deficiencies and NCRs.</li><li>Identify, document and mitigate potential quality risks through pre-activity meetings and project quality walks.</li><li>Review work plans and supplemental documents to ensure quality activities are incorporated.</li><li>Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance to Ames’ QMS and project specific requirements.</li><li>Work with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues and ensure timely resolution.</li><li>Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all quality documents and records.</li><li>Coordinate and ensure compliance of third-party testing and inspection personnel.</li><li>Foster and promote strong client relationships through open and transparent communication.</li><li>Drive a continuous improvement culture by identifying and implementing best practices.</li><li>Document project quality activities & performance per defined frequency.</li><li>Train project team(s) on applicable QMS processes, including tools and system support.</li><li>Report on project KPIs to measure quality performance.</li><li>Investigate and resolve quality issues with vendors (suppliers & subcontractors).</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant work experience.</li><li>2-5 years of relevant technical, quality or construction experience.</li><li>Knowledge of construction standards/specifications (USACE, DOT, ASTM, ACI, AASHTO) preferred.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to analyze and solve problems in a collaborative approach with coworkers.</li><li>Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.</li><li>Possess high attention to detail with the ability to recognize deficiencies.</li><li>Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.</li><li>Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment and adjust priorities based on evolving project changes.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Outlook, SharePoint, Project Management software.</li><li>Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR.</li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>Travel – If supporting multiple projects, travel is 50-80% of position. For a single project, the position requires 100% in-person support.</li><li>Office environment – extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.</li><li>Construction site environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb.
