<p><strong>Tradesmen International</strong> is immediately hiring experienced <strong>Structural Fitters</strong><strong> </strong>for projects located in the <strong>Shreveport, LA area</strong>. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is <strong>$35/hour</strong> based on experience plus <strong>$100/day per diem </strong>for Travelers 60+ miles from the job site. <p> </p>
<p><strong><u>Job Scope:</u></strong> </p>
<ul>
<li>Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools</li>
<li>Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes</li>
<li>Align & fit parts according to specifications using jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps in position for welding or riveting</li>
<li>Analyze engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements and task sequences</li>
<li>Move parts into position by hand or utilizing cranes and hoists</li>
<li>Setup and operate fabricating devices such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, drill presses to bend cut form punch drill or otherwise form and assemble metal components</li>
<li>Hammer chip and grind workpieces to cut bend and straighten metal</li>
<li>Mark reference points onto floors or face blocks and transpose them to workpieces using measuring devices, squares, chalk and/or soapstone</li>
<li>Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files ,portable grinders, and cutting torches</li>
<li>Coordinate with welders to build up low spots or short pieces with welding</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
<h2>Requirements</h2>
<ul>
<li>1+ year fitting experience</li>
<li>Highschool diploma/ GED or equivalent</li>
<li>Crane experience</li>
</ul>
